Praveen Nayak, Commissioner of the Pilikula Development Authority, stated that the primary goal of hosting the fruit festival, jackfruit mela, and other fairs is to provide a platform for farmers to market their produce. Farmers from various districts, self-help groups, cooperative societies, and entrepreneurs were invited to participate. Besides fruits, the fair also offers medicinal plants, saplings, seeds, and food and drinks made from organic fruits. Nayak mentioned that over 50 stalls were set up for the event.

The event was attended by Mangaluru Urban Development Authority Chairman Sadashiva Ullal, Karnataka Cashewnut Development Authority Chairperson Mamatha Gatti, Moodushedde Gram Panchayat President Anil Kumar, Science Director K.V. Rao, and others.

However, visitors observed that despite being a fruit and jackfruit festival, many stalls featured other products. Additionally, there was less participation from farmers outside the district. The first day saw a low turnout, but attendance is expected to increase for the closing ceremony on Sunday.
