Ganeshotsava celebrated at Mangalore University amid police protection

Mangaluru, Sep 20, 2023: The controversy that had arisen over Ganeshotsava celebrations at Mangalore University has ended peacefully  with the celebration of Ganesha Chaturthi by installing an eco-friendly Ganesha idol in the presence of the Vice Chancellor amid  strict vigilance by the police personnel in and around the campus.

The Ganesha idol was brought early morning on September 19, Tuesday and various rituals were held in the presence of the Vice chancellor Jayaraj Amin.

Though many students had arrived wearing saffron shawls, they were asked to remove the saffron shawls by the University administration.

RSS leader Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat, Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharath Shetty, Konaje GP Chief Geetha Damodar and others were present.
