Gang attack: Eight accused arrested

Bantwal, November 2, 2024: Police have arrested eight persons in connection with a gang attack on two persons at Ammemar in Pudu village.

The arrested are Massur alias Manchu, Micha alias Mistaq, Sarfuddin, Rizwan, Adnan, Suhail, Zahid and Sadiq.

The victims namely Tasleem and Shakir are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mangaluru. The attack took place on October 23 reportedly over a previous enmity.

The incident wherein the accused wielded machetes and sharp weapons and assaulted the duo  was caught on camera and the video had gone viral.

A police team led by Bantwal DySP Vijayaprasad was formed to nab the assailants after the Western Range IGP Amith Singh and SP Rishyanth visited the spot and took the incident seriously.
