Grand Mangaluru Dasara of Kudroli Gokarnanatha Temple from October 3 to 14

Mangaluru, October 1, 2024: The grand Mangaluru Dasara celebrations of Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple will be held from October 3 to 14. A half-marathon will be held as part of Dasara on October 6, informed former union minister B Janardhana Poojary who is the rallying force behind the development of Kudroli shrine.

Speaking to reporters, he credited the success of Mangaluru Dasara celebrations to the people of the region.

Padmaraj R, Treasurer of the Temple Committee, said the Mangaluru Dasara will commence on October 3 at 8.30 am with Guru Prarthana and conclude on October 14 at 8 am with Guru Pooja. Various religious and cultural events will be held as part of the festivities, he said adding the grand Mangaluru Dasara Shobhayatra will be held on October 13. The idols of Goddess Sharada and Nava Durgas will be installed at the temple auditorium during the Dasara festivity.

As part of Dasara a 21 kms Half Marathon  will be held on October 6 at 5.30 am. Over 2000 people from across the nation are expected to participate, he said.

Temple Committee Chairman H S Sairam said it has been decided not to allow any stalls inside the Temple Dwara in the interests of lakhs of devotees visiting the shrine.

Temple Committee Secretary Madhav Suvarna, Trustees Ravishanker Mijar, M Shekhar Poojary, office-bearers Anasuya B T Salian, B G Suvarna, Kishore Dandakeri and others were present.
