Gurupura road mishap: Locals block buses and protest at Kaikamba Junction

Mangaluru, June 23, 2023: Following Thursday morning’s accident near Gurupur junction wherein a bike rider, a co-operative bank employee lost his life, locals are staging a protest at Kaikamba junction on Friday by blocking buses. It may be recalled here that Polali Kariangala resident Santosh Kumar had died in Thursday’s accident wherein his bike was hit by a speeding bus from the rear while the bike had slowed down near the humps.

 

Traffic has come to a halt at Kaikamba junction and hundreds of people are protesting. The locals are not allowing buses with many buses heading towards Mangaluru, Bajpe, Polali and other places remaining stranded.

Bajpe police have rushed to the spot and are in talks with the agitated public.
