HJV demands thorough probe into drugs mafia

Mangalore, Feb 4, 2013: Hindu Jagarana Vedike Convener Satyajit Suratkal has condoled the death of Sneha Upadhya, who  was  addicted to drugs and had committed suicide.


Speaking to reporters at the Press Club on February 4, Monday he said the Vedike  demands a thorough probe into the drugs mafia in the  city. He said though the Vedike had demanded a probe during the home stay attack itself, the same was ignored.

He said the Sneha suicide case would not have taken place had the government initiated stern action then itself. He questioned why the women’s organisations which had protested against the homestay attack, now silent in the Sneha suicide case.


He said the suicide case has shocked the city and  urged everyone to join hands to fight drug menace among youngsters.
