Mangaluru, June 4, 2023: The jackfruit festival, known as ’Halasu Habba,’ commenced on Saturday at Balam Bhat Hall, located near Sharavu Temple in Mangaluru.
The festival primarily showcases three main varieties of jackfruit: Chandra Halasu, Rudrakshi, and Yekadashi. ’Halasu Habba’ will continue from 7 am on Saturday until 7 pm on Sunday. Year after year, this festival unites people from all corners of Mangaluru who share a deep affection for jackfruits. It offers them an opportunity to explore the diverse varieties and delectable dishes that this versatile fruit has to offer.
With the festival’s inauguration, the venue buzzed with the presence of numerous attendees. They eagerly explored the various stalls, featuring an array of enticing delicacies such as jackfruit chips, jackfruit seeds, jackfruit idli, jackfruit sheera and kheer, jackfruit gassi, jackfruit manchurian, and more. Additionally, there were a variety of snacks and packaged goods available, including oils, pickles, jams, bamboo rice, papads, and jackfruit millet dosa mix, providing a delightful culinary experience.
