Handicrafts expo ‘Poompuhar’ inaugurated in city

Mangalore, Oct 24, 2014:  City Mayor Mahabala Maarla inaugurated ‘Poompuhar’ the Handicraft expo organised by the Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited at Woodlands Hotel on October 24, Friday.

 

 

The Mayor appreciated the products on display at the venue.

According to Manikantan, Manager of Poompuhar there are nearly 20 stalls displaying crafts  from Punjab, Delhi, Odisha, Maharashtra and other places.

A Panchaloha statue of Lord Vishnu in Shesha Shayana mode   and a huge lamp with small bells attracted many.The exhibition also features several bronze idols, brass oil lamps, gold and silver plated jewellery, American Diamond jewellery, Hyderabad pearls, Tanjavoor art plates,   dress materials, fashion jewellery, terracotta products etc.

The exhibition will be open till November 3.
