Mangaluru, June 1, 2016:The maximum storage level at Thumbe vented dam in good times is 13 feet. It stood at 10.10 feet on May 31, Tuesday, following good inflow of water.
MCC Commissioner Dr H N Gopalakrishna said that 134 gates, in the vented dam have been removed to allow the water to flow. With the water-level at Thumbe dam reaching comfortable level, water supply to Ullal, Mulki and MCF has been restored, the officer stated.
The Commissioner said that the authorities of the AMR Power Pvt Ltd at Shambhoor, upstream of Thumbe dam, have been asked to close the sluice gates of the dam to store water. The catchment areas of River Nethravathi have been receiving good rainfall, thus increasing the inflow into the dam.
