Heavy rains: Holiday declared for schools in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts on July 9

Mangaluru, July 8, 2024: Deputy Commissioners of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts have declared a holiday for all schools and PU colleges on Tuesday, July 9, due to widespread rainfall.

All anganwadis, primary schools, high schools, and Pre-University Colleges (PUCs) in both districts will remain closed on July 9.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the coastal region as heavy rains continue to impact Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Uttara Kannada districts.

Authorities have advised residents to stay indoors and take necessary precautions during this period of heightened rainfall. The district administration is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
