Heavy rains uproot 2 trees near Urva, Lalbagh

Mangalore, July 3, 2013: Heavy rains that have been lashing the city since the past two days uprooted a huge tree which was standing tall and high in front of Skoda showroom near Urwa Store on July 3, Wednesday.

According to the sources, the tree fell on the extension aluminum roof of Skoda showroom and the car parked near to it, causing a loss of Rs 4 lakhs.

 

 

In another incident, another huge tree fell on the electric pole  damaging it completely, behind Pubba’s ice cream parlour located at Lalbagh. Due to this the there is power cut in the area.

The fire service personnel had to struggle for long time to vacate the tree branches that were lying on the road interrupting vehicular as well as pedestrian movement.
