Hebri: Internal Security IGP Roopa visits Naxal encounter spot

Udupi, November 20, 2024: Roopa Moudgil, IGP, Internal Security visited Kabbinale in Hebri taluk where Naxal leader Vikram Gowda was killed in an encounter with ANF.

Speaking to reporters, Roopa said Vikram Gowda alias Srikanth was the most wanted Naxal of the state. She said an investigation was underway with regard to the encounter. Gowda had 61 cases against him of which 19 cases were registered in Kerala, she informed.

She said search is underway for the remaining Naxals. She said the operation was led by ANF SP Jithendra.

Roopa also informed that Vikram Gowda was 46 years old and was leading Kabini Dalam’s 2nd team. He had studied upto 4th standard and hailed from Karkala. She said the ANF has intimated Vikram Gowda’s family.

Even Western Range IGP Amith Singh, Udupi SP Dr Arun Kumar have visited the spot.
