Helmetless rider dies in collision between bike-bus, after cops try to intercept him

Mangaluru, December 21, 2024: A bike rider lost his life in a collision between his bike and a bus when a traffic police personnel who wanted to intercept the rider, chased the latter at Kulaigudde Junction on Friday night.

The deceased is Remmy (38) of Kana. Soon after the accident, the traffic police who was chasing Remmy’s bike has fled by boarding a bus, eyewitnesses said.
Remmy was on way to the tuition centre to bring his daughter back. Meanwhile Mangaluru North Traffic Police were inspecting vehicles at the Junction and tried to intercept Remmy who turned his vehicle towards Suratkal when a private bus rammed into his two-wheeler. He died while being rushed to the spot.

Locals gathered at the spot and demanded action against the cops and even protested by blocking the Suratkal-Kana road.
