Hidden camera row: Don’t give communal angle to the case, urges NCW Member Khushboo

Udupi, July 27, 2023: National Women’s Commission Member and BJP leader Khushboo Sunder who arrived in Udupi on July 26, Wednesday has said that the alleged incident of placing a mobile camera in the washroom of a paramedical college will be investigated impartially sans any political pressure.

Khusbhoo spoke to media persons after holding talks with the Udupi SP and DC for over one and a half hour.

She said there will be no scope to give a communal angle to the case and added that the Women’s Commission is an organisation aimed at protecting women.

She urged people not to give any communal colour to the incident. So far there is no evidence, photo or video. There will be clarity once the FSL report is out, she said.

She said there was a need to know why this so called incident has gone viral. On several fake videos circulating in social media, she said the same should not be believed. So far there is no video   evidence. Police have retrieved the mobile phones and could not get any data, she said.

Police and the Women’s Commission are doing their duty with regard to this case involving young people. No conclusions must be drawn before investigation is complete, she said.
