Hijab row: Restaurant of petitioner girl’s father attacked, brother injured

Udupi, Feb 22, 2022: A restaurant belonging to the father of one of the girls who has petitioned in the High Court over the Hijab row, was allegedly attacked by a group of right wing workers at Malpe late night on February 21, Monday.
It has been alleged that a group of around 50 men stoned the Bismillah Hotel owned by Hyder Ali who is the father of Shifa who had approached the High Court seeking to allow wearing Hijab in classroom.

The assailants also attacked Saif (20), son of Hyder Ali after an argument between them and him. The stoning incident left the window panes of the restaurant shattered.
Police later rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Meanwhile Shifa posted a tweet regarding the incident and also tagged Udupi police and sought action against the accused.
The Campus Front of India too has blamed the Sangh Parivar for the attack and demanded stern action.
