Mangalore, Nov 23, 2011: Flaying the union government and labeling it “uncivilized,” Muniappa, the region unit pramukh of the State Dharma Jagarana, said that the central government is still unwilling to implement the Prevention of Terrorism Act because it is afraid of hurting minority communities in India although it has spent Rs. 64,000 crore to check terrorist activities.

Delivering the main address at a massive protest organized by Hindu organizations to protest against certain anti Hindu provisions in the Communal and Targeted Violence Bill of 2011 on Nehru Maidan on Nov 23 Wednesday, he said that Christians and Muslims can live in any part of the world because there are a number of Christian and Muslim countries, but Hindus have to live only in India because it belongs to them, owing to which Hindus have to fight for their rights.

Flaying the Congress party, he said that even Mahatma Gandhi fought against conversions, but the Congress workers who garland his statue at his birth and death anniversaries are unwilling to follow his principles.

Criticizing the proposed Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence Bill, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, the Dakshin Madhya Kshetriya Samparka Pramukh, said that it is “uncivilized” and accused Sonia Gandhi of attempting to implement a law that even the worst dictators of the world could not think of.

Challenging the central government to implement the bill, he said that the government should get ready to bear the consequences too. He said that the proposed legislation is an assault on the peace-loving Hindu society of India. Accusing the National Advisory Council (NAC) of attempting to convert the entire nation into Christianity and sell it to the Muslims, he said that it is not easy for Sonia Gandhi to fool India as she fooled Rajiv Gandhi in the past.

Criticizing the proposed law, he said that it glorifies the feelings and practices of minority communities in total disregard of the feelings of the majority. The law is also attempting to make the police biased toward India’s minority community, thereby adding to the sufferings of the majority community, he stated.

Stating that groups such as New Life, which are involved in active conversion activities, are responsible for attacks on churches, he said that there are no reports of communal violence in Hindu-majority areas. He also spoke on issues such as Love Jihad, cow slaughter ban, and conversion ban.

In his benedictory address, Shri Ramananda Swamiji of Kolya Mutt said that the day on which the bill is passed should be considered as black day and assured that as long as Hindus are united, they do not have to observe any black day. Stating that the central government cannot fool the Hindu community, he warned that Hindus are lions who can attack if they are hurt.

Shri Mohandas Swamiji of Manila said that although Pakistan is no longer a part of India, a mini Pakistan is being formed in India, which is dangerous to the Hindu community. Criticizing the central government, he said that it has been created just to break up the nation and hand it over to minority communities.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rajashekarananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Mutt said that the central government is playing with the lives of several Hindus by attempting to pass this bill. He said that the proposed law will destroy the country. Stating that the nation has been built by Chatrapathi Shivaji, he said that the Hindu community will not permit the central government to destroy it and will work hard to protect the country.

Dr. P. Vaman Shenoy, the honorary president of the Hindu Hitharakshana Vedike, said that the proposed bill is being opposed by the opposition party and leaders such as Mulayam Singh Yadav, Jayalalitha, and Nithish Kumar are against it. He voiced his opinion that the bill is an attempt by the UPA government to divert the attention of the general public from its corrupt activities. Stating that the bill proposes to divide the nation on the basis of religion, he said that it favors minority communities over the majority.

More than 10,000 people holding saffron flags participated in a massive protest procession from Jyothi Circle to Nehru Maidan.

Harish Achar, the general secretary of the Hindu Hitharakshana Vedike, welcomed the gathering. S. Ramesh, the president, proposed the vote of thanks. A number of Hindu leaders such as Manohar Tulajaram, Sharan Pumpwell, and Jagadeesh Shenava were present.
