Hindu outfits accuse police of inaction in cattle trafficking cases

Mangaluru, Sep 10, 2015 : The VHP and the Bhajrangdal have accused the Police Department of   inaction in cattle trafficking cases.  Speaking to reporters here on September 9, Wednesday,  Kateel Dinesh Pai,  Provincial Goraksha Pramukh of VHP  has alleged that the police were not taking any action against cattle trafficking to slaughter houses despite being tipped off. “When enquired the police say they have  pressure from higher ups against conducting raids,” he further alleged.

 At the same time he pointed out how the police had jailed an accused in a case of attack on a church  for hurting religious sentiments, while no action is taken against cattle traffickers who transport cattle to butcheries. This too hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus, he said.

Pai further said the   Deputy Commissioner led Society for  Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has not met  since past two years, as per the information gathered from an RTI query.

VHP District President Jagadish Shenava, Pradeep Pumpwell, Gopal Kuttar, Bhajrangdal leaders and others were present.
