Hindustani Classical Concert ‘Sur Tar’ marks 75 years of India-Philippines diplomatic ties

Philippines, February 24, 2025: A mesmerizing Hindustani classical music concert titled ‘Sur Tar’ was held in Manila to commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations between India and the Philippines. The event was jointly organized by Music in Manila and the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

The concert featured an enchanting sitar recital by young and talented artist Ankush N. Nayak from Mangalore, accompanied by Yashwant Vaishnav on the tabla. Their captivating performance enthralled the audience, showcasing the rich heritage of Indian classical music on a global stage.

The event was inaugurated by Indian Ambassador Harsha K. Jain and his wife Vandana Jain. The concert was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Asian Development Bank (ADB) Executive Directors Vikas Sheel and Justin Diokno-Sicott, ADB Sector Group Director General Ramesh Subramaniam, and Senior Advisor to the Executive Director and senior IAS officer Ponnuraj V.
