Mangalore, Nov 4: The Kannada daily Hosa Digantha hosted a programme “Rashtra Devo Bhava” presented by Sanatana Natyalaya Mangalore at Town Hall on Nov 4, Thursday. The aim of the programme was to inculcate patriotism in the minds of the public.
President of Nitte Education Institution N. Vinay Hegde inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp before Bharat Matha. In his inaugural address, he lauded the RSS for its service, dedication, and patriotism. Chairman of Corporation Bank B. R. Bhat said that people organize different varieties of programmes, but none of them organize programmes devoted to Bharat Matha.
M. N. Rajendra Kumar, the president of SCDCC Bank; P. Jayaram Hande, the chairman of Karnataka Bank; M. B. Puranik, the leader of VHP; and Dr. Vaman Shenoy were the dignitaries on the dais.
Prakash P. S. delivered the welcome address; Pramila Rao was the comperer of the stage programme; and Anand Shetty, the chief reporter of Hosa Diganth, proposed the vote of thanks.
Later, cultural programmes were presented by professional dance troupes and students. Adarsh Gokhale compered the cultural programme. The dignitaries on the dais honored dance co-ordinators Sharadha Mani Shekar, Sujatha S. Rao, Srilatha Nagaraj, Sudhindra J Shanthi and Adarsh Ghokhale, Karkala with a shawl and a memento.
