Belthangady, August 15, 2024: A wild elephant which entered the National Highway at Boliyar in Dharmasthala on Thursday morning damaged a bus and a two-wheeler.

The elephant was crossing the road near Boliyar at around 7.40 am when a KSRTC bus was passing by and blocked the bus and damaged its front portion.

Meanwhile, a two-wheeler rider ran towards safety after abandoning his vehicle which too was damaged by the elephant.

Locals say a herd of wild elephants has been moving in Boliyaru and Mulikaru areas since a couple of days leaving residents panic-stricken.
