Mangaluru, March 2, 2025: The II Pre-University (PU) examinations commenced smoothly in Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, with stringent arrangements in place across 55 centers in the district. The first day saw the Kannada and Arabic exams being conducted without any reported incidents of malpractice or disruptions.
According to official data, 21,313 students had registered for the Kannada exam, with 164 candidates absent. In the Arabic exam, 228 students were enrolled, with only one student failing to appear.
This year, a total of 36,374 candidates, including 34,434 regular students, are appearing for the II PU examinations. For the first time, the Karnataka State Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has introduced webcasting to monitor the examination process remotely.
Jayanand Suvarna, principal of Government PU College, Shaktinagar, and president of the Dakshina Kannada Pre-University Colleges Principals’ Association, stated that officials are overseeing the exams from a central control room set up at the zilla panchayat office in Mangaluru.
