Udupi: August 26, 2015: Efforts were being made to identify 200 acres of land in Udupi Assembly constituency to set up an industrial park, said MLA Pramod Madhwaraj here on Tuesday.
Speaking to Media here, MLA said the industrial park project required 200 acres of land near Udupi. The objective was to help unemployed youth to set up small industries in the industrial park. But the plan was still in initial stages and would materialize if the required land was available.
A Government Tool Room and Training Centre would be set up at Uppoor village near Udupi shortly. This Centre will give training in manufacturing tools and other components needed for the industry.
It would also help manufacturers deal with issues of quality training, accreditation and certification. Such tool rooms had been set up in other districts. This project was expected to cost Rs. 48 crore, he said.
