It’s Modi’s win in Gujarat, not that of BJP, says Yeddyurappa

 Belthangady, Dec 22,2012: KJP President and former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, on December 21, Friday claimed that his KJP already has three lakh members while 25 lakh more are expected to join the party within the next two months.

bsy 1Speaking to reporters at the Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Guest House, the KJP chief said regional party was the need of the hour in the state as it was a regional party which can protect the interests of the state on various issues including land, water and language.

Commenting on the Gujarat election results, he claimed that the victory was a personal victory for Narendra Modi and not for the BJP.

 He debunked the claims of former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda and State BJP Chief Eshwarappa that a Gujarat like situation prevailed in Karnataka too. In that case, let them reveal as to who the Modi of Karnataka was, Yeddy challenged.


He said his party would contest would all assembly constituencies and emerge victorious in large number of constituencies. He also said his party would not enter into any alliance with any other political party and added already it has selected 100 candidates.
He said his party would hold protests in all district headquarters on December 26 condemning the delay in provision of various government facilities to the poor including old age pension, widow pension, and Bhagyalaxmi bonds.

KJP leaders Dhananjaya  Kumar,Ramachandra Baikampady,  Ravindra Shetty, Azeez Baikampady,  Sukesh Kumar, Gokuldas Bhandarkar, Ravindra Oppanthaya and others were present.
Earlier, Yeddyurappa visited various temples including Kollur and also sought the blessings of Lord Manjunatha of Dharmasthala. He even met D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala.
