Sullia, Mar 16, 2019: Janata Dal (Secular), the coalition partner of the Congress in the state, has taken strong exception to the recent statement of senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary, who vented ire against his own party leaders and even threatened to contest as a rebel if some particular leaders were given a ticket to contest from Dakshina Kannada Constituency.
The District President of the JD(S) Mohammad Kunhi Vittal has also said the statement of Poojary that "Modi should be the PM again" was not acceptable.
Speaking to reporters here on March 15, Friday, Kunhi said the Congress leaders should not remain quiet on Poojary’s statements as he was a leader who lost the elections at least three times.
To a question if the JD(S) would support Poojary if at all Congress decides to field him, Kunhi questioned whether it was possible to give a ticket to someone who spoke against the party’s own leaders. He further added that the JD(S) would support him in case the Congress decides to field him.
State Vice President of JD(S) M B Sadashiva, District Youth Wing Chief Akshith Suvarna and others were present on the occasion.
