July 26 order on e-autos will not be withdrawn, DC clarifies

 Mangaluru, September 6, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan has made it clear that the order issued on July 26 allowing e-autorickshaws to operate throughout the district without any zonal restrictions, will not be cancelled.

Participating in a meeting of auto drivers and owners on Thursday, the DC said the order was issued following the Union Government guidelines and a High Court directive and is in accordance to law. Those having issues with this order can appeal in the High Court for clarification, he said.

The DC further said the Union Government has allowed free permits for e-autos without urban, rural restrictions and the same is being implemented in the state including Mangaluru.
