KCCI Delegation Submits Memorandum to MP Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade on Road Development

Mangaluru, January 15, 2025: A delegation from the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), led by its President, Anand G. Pai, met Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), at Dharmasthala on January 13, 2025. The delegation submitted a memorandum highlighting the urgent need for road restoration and development in the region.

The memorandum requested the restoration of a critical 10-kilometer stretch between Maranahalli and Addahole on National Highway 75 and the release of emergency funds for the project. It also emphasized the importance of expediting the completion of the four-laning work between B.C. Road and Sakleshpur, a vital link for trade and transportation.

KCCI acknowledged Dr. Heggade’s proactive efforts in addressing infrastructure concerns, particularly his engagement with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, to facilitate funding for these projects.

The delegation included Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon. Secretary of KCCI; Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira, Director and Chairman of KCCI’s EXIM sub-committee; Shri Nownith Kumar, Consultant for Business Development and Liaisoning at JSW (Mangalore Container Terminal); and Shri Dilip Shetty, General Manager of Business Development at JSW.

This initiative underscores KCCI’s commitment to improving regional infrastructure to bolster economic growth and connectivity.
