Mangalore, Dec 17: K S Hegde Hospital (KSHEMA) inaugurated its sophisticated and well-equipped haemodialysis unit on Dec 16, 2009.
Dr. Sudharshan Ballal, the director of the Nephrogogy Department of Manipal Hospital, Bangalore, formally inaugurated this well-equipped unit, which was established with the purpose of providing top notch medical services to the economically backward sections of society.
Dr. Sampath Kumar, the superintendent of the hospital, made the welcome speech. Dr. Shashidhar Balkunje, the head of the Nephrology Department of K S Hegde Medical Academy provided detailed information about the newly inaugurated unit and the hospital’s plans for future development.
Dr. M Shantharam Shetty, the vice chancellor of NITTE University, emphasized the necessity of providing such highly advanced medical services at affordable rates.
Mr. Vinay Hegde, the chancellor of the NITTE University; Vishal Hegde, Trustee Nitte Education Trust, Dr. Arunachalam Kumar, the dean of KSHEMA; and Dr. Sathish Bhandary, the vice dean of KSHEMA, were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
