KSRP inspector trapped by Lokayukta while accepting bribe

Mangaluru, July 11, 2024: Mohammad Harris, inspector in the 7th battalion of KSRP at Konaje was trapped red-handed by the Lokayukta officials while he was accepting bribe from a police constable.

It is learnt Mohammad was trapped when he was receiving Rs 18000 bribe from the constable Anil Kumar with regard to the latter’s posting.

It has been learnt that the accused inspector had demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 and a monthly payment of Rs 6000 if Anil had to continue in his posting at the KSRP 7th battalion. Accordingly, the complainant upto now had paid as much as Rs 50,000 through a monthly payment of Rs 6000. However, he had not paid the bribe  since April 2024 as his father was ill. But the inspector used to call him repeatedly and change his posting following which the latter lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta police.
