Continuing his speech, Khaleel said that Muslims should work hard to achieve success and rubbished allegations of discrimination against members of minority communities, especially Muslims. He urged young Muslims to give up such negative thought patterns and enter the main stream by getting educated because education is the shortest and most definite way to achieve success.

Revealing details about KZCT, he said that its collective mobilization and deployment of Zakat with focus on education is based on a similar effort launched 17 years ago by Ghiasuddin Babukhan in Hyderabad (HZCT) and is today helping poor students in Andhra Pradesh. Urging the rich people of the community to give to the poor, he said that HZCT and KZCT are excellent examples of what social enterprises can achieve.

A total of 1,200 students from all over Karnataka faced spot interviews and received scholarships. The trust intended to give away Rs. 2.2 crore to more than 3,000 students in the state. On Saturday, 1,200 selected students from Udupi, DK, and Uttara Kannada received these scholarships.

Addressing the students, Ghiasuddin Babukhan urged members of the Muslim community to avoid forming their own groups and mix freely with people from different communities.

Prominent personalities such as former minister B. A. Moideen, Jama’ath-e-Islami President (Mangalore unit) K. M. Ashraf, and KZCT Managing Trustee Shahid Ali Khan were present.
