Kadri Market Complex to be operational by January-End: Mayor Manoj Kumar

Mangaluru, Dec 8, 2024: The long-awaited Kadri market complex will become operational by the end of January 2024, announced Mayor Manoj Kumar on Saturday.

During an inspection of the unoccupied building, the Mayor informed reporters that 16 shops have been allotted, and the respective allottees are in the process of depositing the prescribed amounts with the city corporation. He further stated that the allocation of an additional 16 shops is currently underway.

The state-of-the-art market complex features a lower basement, upper basement, lower ground floor, upper ground floor, and three additional floors.

Out of the approved tender amount of ₹10.75 crore, ₹8.87 crore has already been paid to the contractor. The project, which received its work order on March 5, 2019, is now complete, the Mayor confirmed.

An official from the city corporation provided details on the floor area of the facility, highlighting that the lower basement spans 1,090.23 square meters, while the upper basement covers 924.29 square meters. Both basements are equipped with parking facilities for two-wheelers and four-wheelers.

The new market complex is expected to enhance commercial activities and address parking challenges in the area.
