Mangaluru, September 3, 2023: The 41st Shree Krishna Vesha Sparde organized by Kalkura Prathistana is scheduled to take place on September 3 and 6, featuring competitions in 41 distinct categories.
Speaking to the press on Saturday, Prathistana president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura provided details about the various events. Three competitions, namely the Krishna Gana Vaibhava singing contest, Sri Krishna Rangoli, and Pandarapura Vittala (solo Krishna Bhajans in traditional attire), will be hosted at Sharada Vidyalaya on September 3, commencing at 9 a.m.
The remaining 38 events of the competition are slated for September 6 and will unfold on eight different stages at the Kadri Shri Manjunatha Temple, running from 9 a.m. until midnight. The day will culminate with a public "Argya Pradana" (offering) to Krishna, as Mr. Kalkura explained.
The diverse array of events includes Thotila Krishna (for infants aged below six months), Kanda Krishna (for those under one year), Muddu Krishna (ages 1 and 2), Tunta Krishna (ages 2 and 3), Bala Krishna (kindergarten), Kishora Krishna (Ukg and Class 1), Shree Krishna (Classes 2 to 4), Geeta Krishna (recitation of Bhagawad Geeta), Shankhanada, Shanka Udhghosha, Radha Krishna, Radha Madhava, Devaki Krishna, Yashoda Krishna, Vasudeva Krishna, Yaksha Krishna, Nanda Gokula, still photography competition, Sri Krishna Varna Vaibhava drawing competition, Achyutha quiz, Madhava quiz, and Keshava quiz.
Kadri Navaneeth Shetty, a member of the organizing committee, mentioned that the Yashoda Krishna event is specifically for individuals who participated in Krishna Vesha Sparde during their childhood. Additionally, for the Yaksha Krishna event, the organizers will provide "Himmela" (singer and percussion artists), as noted by Mr. Shetty.
