Mangalore, Aug 8: Kalkura Prathishtana organized a cultural programme called “Jeevana Chakra” in collaboration with the Kannada Department and Cultural Department of SDM Law College on Aug 7, Saturday.
President of DK Sahitya Parishad Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said that the purpose of the event is to create awareness among children about India’s rich culture and the need to preserve and protect it.
Jayaram Hande, the general manager of Karnataka Bank and Principal of SDM College Devaraj K. were the chief guests of the programme.
Children and members of various ladies clubs illustrated the customs and traditions of the people of India such as naming ceremonies, lullabies, Brahmopadesham, wedding anniversaries, and much more.
Assistant Director of Kannada and Cultural Department Mangala V. Naik also participated in the event.
