Uppinangady, Nov 01 2019: Speaking after distributing clothes on account of Deepavali at a programme organised by Rai Estate Educational and Charitable Trust at Kodimbadi, Vijaya-Vikrama Kambala Samithi President Ashok Kumar Rai Kodimbadi stressed that there is no question of stopping Kambala. We will not allow Kambala to die it is a blood sport for us.
President Ashok Kumar said people for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) had recently submitted a report to the Supreme Court against Kambala, traditional bull buffalo race of this ancient traditional agricultural region.
“The Kambala Samithi will also clarify to the court with documents. The PETA had filed 1,360 page report to the Supreme Court. We will also approach the Supreme Court and project our facts,” he said.
The Trust has responded to the woes of 5,800 families. Houses were constructed to 78 families. The Trust is also looking after the expenses of 54 HIV-affected children in Mangaluru.
