Karkala: Over 20 teams launch hunt for associates of slain Naxal Vikram Gowda

Karkala, November 20, 2024: Over 20 teams including teams from the Anti-Naxal Force and the local police have swung into action and have launched a manhunt for the associates of slain Naxal Vikram Gowda who had managed to escape in the thick forests during the encounter on Monday near Kabbinale of Hebri.

Combing operations has intensified and the security personnel are using dog squads and drones to assist them in their search for the Naxals.

Meanwhile, the authorities have issued a high alert for Kalasa, Moodigere, Koppa and Shringeri in Chikkamagaluru district.

The security personnel are also gathering information from locals who have good knowledge of the forest area.

The body of Vikram Gowda is expected to be handed over to his family after a post-mortem in the presence of a judge. Meanwhile, Vikram’s sister Suguna has arrived and the family plans to conduct last rites at their property.
