Karkala Taluk Office staff ends life

Karkala, July 26, 2022: Twenty six year old Sushmitha who was working as a Village Accountant in Karkala Taluk Office, has reportedly committed suicide by jumping into a well near her house at Kukkundur.

 

Sushmitha who was unmarried stayed with her parents and brother at HUDCO colony and was working as Village Accountant since six years. It has been gathered that she was facing work related pressure since some days and had even availed medical treatment.

On the night of July 24, Sunday she had slept as usual after dinner. However at around 11 pm, family members noticed that she was not at home. On search, her mobile phone was found on the platform of the well. The fire service personnel later retrieved the body from the well.

It is suspected that she  ended her life unable to cope work pressure. Karkala Town Police have registered a case.
