Karkala: Two drown while fishing in pond

Karkala, May 19, 2024: Two members of the same family who went fishing drowned and died in an incident that took place at Shirlalu in the jurisdiction of the Ajekaru police station in Karkala taluk, Udupi district.

Harish Poojari (48) and his nephew Ritesh (18), residents of Shirlalu, drowned and died.

The accident occurred when they went fishing in the Ubrelu Gundi pond at Shirlalu village in Karkala. Ritesh began to drown while fishing, and Harish Poojari, who went to rescue him, also drowned. Both of them lost their lives in the water.
