Karkala: Woman delivers in ambulance

Karkala, June 7, 2013 : A woman hailing from Ajekar village, has delivered a baby  girl in the ’108’ Ambulance on June 6, Thursday.

 

At around 4,45 am on Thursday when Nagaveni (23) developed labour pains, her family  summoned the 108 Ambulance.

Though the hospital was located just 5 kms away from Nagaveni’s house, it took nearly 15 minutes for the ambulance to reach the house located in an interior area. However while being taken to the hospital,  Nagaveni delivered  a baby  in the ambulance itself with  the help of the  108  medical assistance staff Jaya Kumar.

This is the fifth case of delivery in the 108 Ambulance in the area.
