Karnataka’s first E-Govt Hospital on March 13, Udupi District Hospital

Udupi, Feb 02, 2017: It has been revealed that Udupi district hospital will become Karnataka’s first e government hospital as it is scheduled to launch its paper less facility from March 13 when Karnataka state minister Pramod Madhwaraj is scheduled to launch e-hospital facilities.

According to the new initiative all information related to a patient will be stored online this will help to ease consumption of paper,  time and long queues before the hospital.

Aadhar number or cell phone number provided to the hospital by the patient will be used to store the data of the patient including his medical history. Also, the number will help the patient or a doctor to access his file containing information on his health, treatment provided and other at any government hospital located in the state. 

In the initial stage 3 out of the total 16 departments of the hospital will turn as paperless. Once e-facility introduced at 3 departments, then other departments of the hospital will come under the new system. According to the new facility to be launched, the sections including lab, admission, x-ray, billing, out patient sections and others will be provided with e-facility.


The works to transfer the hospital into the first e-hospital in the state have been out sourced to a private company and the company will maintain the works needed.
