Kirem parish celebrates ’Konkani Language Recognition Day’

Mangalore, Aug 17, 2013: ’Konkani Language Recognition Day’ was celebrated Kirem parish under the leadership of the cultural committee at August 15, Thursday.

Joseph Mathias and Fr Jerome D’Souza honoured the parish students who excelled in academics.

 

 

 

 

 

Marceline Saldanha, secretary of the parish council conducted the felicitation programme.

On the occasion, the fourteen wards of the parish exhibited their talents in the cultural events including singing, dance, and theatrical skills with skit and tableuax. They all as a fraternity of one belief prepared a tasty local delicacy ‘haldi kolancho patholio ‘and  served to the audiences.

Fr Paul Pinto, parish priest, Our Lady of Remedies Church, Kirem, presided over the programme.

Joseph Mathias, Merit Freight Systems Company LLC, Dubai was the chief guest. 

Robert Rodrigues, the vice-president welcomed the gathering. Berton Sequeira proposed the vote of thanks. Anitha Pais Compered the event.
