Konkan Railway to connect MRPL from Thokur at the cost of Rs.46 crore

Mangaluru, January 16:  Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) has announced the plans to construct railway siding facility for Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) in from Thokur station Mangaluru.

The proposed railway siding from Thokur station will help in the transportation of products such as pet coke, polypropylene, sulphur and bitumen from the plant, a press release by KRCL said here on 16 January 2016 Saturday.

 

 
After completion, around 2,800 tonnes of products is expected to be transported by railway every day. There will be two lines of 800 metres each in the railway siding. The project, which is estimated to cost Rs 46 crore, will be completed in 24 months, the release added.

Additional Coaches:

Good news for passengers of Konkan Railway.  An additional coach will be attached to the following trains on temporary basis by Northern Railway. They are:

One additional 3-tier AC coach to Train No. 12450  Chandigarh – Madgaon Goa Sampark Karanti Express from 16.01.2016 to 30.01.2016 and  Train No. 12449 Madgaon – Chandigarh Goa Sampark Karanti Express  from 19.01.2016 to 02.02.2016.
One additional Sleeper Coach to Train No. 12218 Chandigarh – Kochuveli  Kerala Sampark  Kranti Express from 20.01.2016 to 29.01.2016 and Train No. 12217 Kochuveli – Chandigarh Kerala Sampark Kranti Express from 23.01.2016 to 01.02.2016.
One additional 3-tier AC Coach to Train No. 12484 Amritsar  – Kochuveli     Express from 17.01.2016 to 31.01.2106 . Train No. 12483 Kochuveli –     Amritsar Express from 20.01.2016 to 03.02.2016
