Kundapur: Young doctor ends life by jumping into lake

Kundapur, September 19, 2024: A young doctor who was preparing for his MS course after completing MBBS, has ended his life by jumping into the Kotilingeshwara lake of Koteshwara on Wednesday night.

The deceased is Gaurish Ganiga (28), son of Narayana of Hangalur. Gaurish was practicing at the Kundapur Government Hospital after his MBBS and had also appeared for entrance test for MS course. However, he was reportedly depressed since a few days.

On Wednesday evening, Gaurish who left home did not return. Following a frantic search his family had lodged a missing complaint. His mobile location was detected near the lake and when the cops visited there his bike was found parked nearby while his mobile phone and footwear were near the lake.

The body was found on Thursday morning. The reason behind the extreme step is not known.
