Kutlur in Belthangady wins national award in Adventure Tourism category

Belthangady, September 28, 2024: Kutlur village in Belthangady taluk has won the national award in Adventure Tourism category in the Best Tourist Village Contest 2024 conducted by the Union Tourism Ministry.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar participated in the award presentation ceremony held at Vijnan Bhavan in New Delhi. Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekawat conferred the award on Harish Dakaiah Poojary, Shivaraj Anchan and State Tourism Department Joint Director Srinivas.

The Best Tourism Village competition 2024 was organized by the Union Tourism Ministry with a view to identify villages which promote cultural heritage and tourism along with sustained development.

 Harish Dakaiah Poojary who hails from Kutlur and is a software engineer in Bengaluru, Sandeep Kutlur, en employee in Qatar and Shivaraj Anchan all natives of Kutlur had prepared a documentary on the tourist destinations, the nature’s beauty of their village and its vicinity and had sent it as part of the contest.

Harish Dakaiah says he sincerely wants his village Kutlur to shun its naxal hit area tag and emerge as a tourism hub thereby also helping in its sustainable development.
