Leopard on prowl in Shankerpura; devours Persian cat

Udupi, December 14, 2024: A leopard which entered the compound of a house near Shankerpura on the night of December 12 has preyed on a Persian cat.

The occupants of the house on finding their cat missing and checked the CCTV footage which revealed that the leopard had taken away the cat.

The incident took place near the residence of Judith D’Souza. The CCTV footage shows the leopard entering the place at around 1.25 am and then escaping after devouring the cat at around 3 am.

Forest officials have said a cage has been placed nearby to trap the leopard.
