Literary and social leader Damodara Nisarga passes away

Mangaluru, Sept 1, 2024: Damodara Nisarga, a well-known literary, social, and religious leader, passed away on Saturday after a brief illness at the age of 75.

A resident of Maroli, he was known for organizing Tulu and Kannada literary events and served as the president of Kudla Tulu Koota. He was also the administrative trustee of Maroli Sri Sooryanarayana Temple.

Damodara was a civil contractor by profession and was the founder president of Kankanady Billava Sangha. He was involved with Sri Brahma Baidarkala Garadi Kshetra, Kankanady, and served as a director of the South Canara District Central Cooperative (SCDCC) Bank.

He is survived by his wife, Hema Nisarga, and his children, Vinyasa and Tridev.
