Literature and criticism meet by Konkani Writers Association, Karnataka

Mangaluru, Jul 02, 2019 : Konkani Writers’ Association, Karnataka, a literary organization of Konkani writers organised a seminar on the role of criticism in literature at Don Bosco Hall, Mangalore.  Eminent scholar, Rev. Dr. Melwyn Pinto. S.J. , Director of Konkani Institute, St. Aloysius College, Mangalore was the resource person. He dealt with the various theories of literary criticism. He explained how the writer becomes indistinct once the literary piece is in the hands of the critics.

 

 

 

Mr. Vally, Vogga senior Konkani writer conducted the deliberations where several writers  participated in the discussions. Mr. Vally Vogga, recipient of this years prestigious Daiji Dubai award was felicitated.

Dr. Edward Nazareth, one of the members of the steering committee of the Konkani Writers’ Association welcomed the gathering. Mr. Richard Moras, chief convener of the steering committee felicitated Rev. Dr. Melwyn Pinto.  Mrs. Lavi, Ganjimatt proposed vote of thanks. Mr. Donald Periera coordinated the programme.

Mr. Dolphy Cassia, Mr. Cyril G Sequiera(CGS, Taccode), Mr. Edwin J F D’souza, Mr. Naveen Kulshekar, Mr. Edie Netto, Mr. J.F.D’Souza, Mr. Paul Moras, Dr. Jerald Pinto(Jerry, Niddodi) and several other eminent Konkani writers were present. The participation was admirable.
