Mangalore, June 27, 2013: Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo visited Government Wenlock Hospital here on June 26, Wednesday and had firsthand information regarding the problems confronting the hospital.
He interacted with the staff, doctors and patients at the hospital and came to know of the acute staff shortage facing the hospital. He said he has come to know that the hospital required more nursing and clerical staff.
hat the hospital also faced shortage of beds in the ICU was also brought to the notice of the MLA. He also said he has come to know about the lack of infrastructural facilities like ventilators in the ICU.
He asked the Resident Medical Officer Dr Erappa to look into the severe shortage of supply of drugs to the hospital He said that the facility of X-ray machine should be installed in the orthopaedic ward, and directed the officials to shift the orthopaedic patients from the corridors to other wards.
He also directed hospital authorities not to place beds in corridors and instead shift the patients to wards which have empty beds. He further directed the officials concerned to arrange for drinking water facility in each ward.
