MP Brijesh Chowta lays foundation for development of roads under CRIF at cost of Rs 6 crore

Mangaluru, April 9, 2025: Under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) scheme of the central government, two key roads in Dakshina Kannada district are set to be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 6 crore. The foundation stone for these projects was laid under the leadership of Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta.

As part of the CRIF grant, the Subrahmanya-Manjeshwar road passing through Parladka in Puttur taluk is being upgraded at a cost of approximately Rs 3.12 crore. This road, which connects National Highway 275 with State Highway 100, will see about 5.20 kilometers of the stretch being developed. The groundbreaking ceremony for this work was conducted at Macchimale.

Similarly, the Nintikallu-Bellare-Nettaru and Anchinadka-Kavu-Ishwaramangala-Pallatturu roads will also be upgraded under the CRIF scheme at a cost of around Rs 2.88 crore. A total of 4.80 kilometers of road will be improved, and in light of this, the foundation stone was laid today at Anchinadka.

Once these two state-level highways are upgraded, it will significantly benefit commuters from this region, especially those traveling between border areas of Kerala and Karnataka, by enhancing smooth transportation in the Dakshina Kannada district.
