Brijesh Chowta, has called upon Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to expedite critical infrastructure initiatives in the region. In a meeting held in New Delhi on Saturday, ahead of the Winter session of Parliament, Capt. Chowta emphasized the importance of completing ongoing projects, including the widening of National Highway 75 (Mangaluru-Bengaluru route), the establishment of the Indian Coast Guard Academy, and the merger of Konkan Railway Corporation with Indian Railways.

Following the meeting, Capt. Chowta remarked, "These projects hold the potential to position Mangaluru as a major hub for trade, commerce, and economic activity while enhancing coastal security. Under the guidance of the Finance Minister, I am confident these initiatives will lead to the comprehensive development of Dakshina Kannada."
Highlighting the proposal to establish an Institute of Banking Research and Training (IBRT), Capt. Chowta noted, "Our region has been the cradle of the banking industry, producing some of the finest minds in banking and finance. It is only fitting that we honor this legacy by hosting a premier institution."
