Mangaluru, June 30, 2024: Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta visited the rain-affected areas around Mangaluru on Sunday. He visited several locations, including the site where a retaining wall collapse tragically claimed the lives of four family members in Madaninagara, Kuthar.

He instructed officials to expedite the compensation process for the bereaved family and directed the Tahsildar to conduct a village-wise survey to identify vulnerable houses.

At the time of the incident, the MP was in New Delhi attending a parliamentary session. Upon his return to Mangaluru, he promptly visited the affected site.

Subsequently, he inspected areas affected by sea erosion in Ucchila, Mogaveerapatna, Battampady, Seaground in Ullal, and Someshwar. He directed the Deputy Commissioner to make temporary arrangements for those threatened by sea erosion and to take all necessary precautions to prevent further incidents.
