MP Kateel launches DK credit plan

Mangalore, March 30:  MP Nalin Kumar Kateel launched the DK District Credit Plan with an outlay of Rs 3581 crore for 2010 – 11 at a special meeting held at the Zilla Panchayath meeting hall on March 30, Tuesday. On the occasion, Kateel remarked that banks symbolize development.

The lead district officer of the lead bank of DK, the Syndicate Bank, prepared the credit plan by consolidating the branch credit plans of 407 branches of 45 banks in the district. The branch credit plans have been prepared on the basis of Potential Linked Plan (PLP) by NABARAD, which was previously approved by the controlling officers of banks and the block level bankers’ committee meeting held during February 2010. 

Sujir Prabhakar, the deputy general manager of Syndicate Bank, welcomed the dignitaries and introduced the credit plan. Uday Kumar Holla, the lead bank manager of Syndicate Bank, briefed the plan outlay for different sectors and the processes involved in preparing the plan as per RBI guidelines. He also proposed the vote of thanks at the end of the meeting. 

K P Udupa, AGM, NABARD; executives from controlling offices of major banks in the district; district coordinators of banks; heads of government departments; officers of the Zilla Panchayath; and NGOs participated in the meeting.
